Questions people ask before installing
Does it submit applications for me?
No. It prepares everything: the fit evaluation, a tailored CV and cover letter, and interview prep. You review the documents and send them yourself, which keeps you in control of what goes out under your name.
Will the AI make things up about me?
The drafter is bound to facts in your profile, and the reviewer's first job is to flag anything the profile does not support. Possible inventions are shown in the review log so you can fix them. You should still read every document before sending it.
Where does my data go?
Your profile and applications are stored in your own WordPress database. The profile and job text are sent to the AI provider you choose, using your own API key, and to nobody else. You can download or erase everything from Settings.
Which AI providers work, and what does it cost?
Anthropic, OpenAI, and any OpenAI-compatible endpoint, including local servers such as Ollama. You pay your provider directly for usage. A full application, with drafting, review and revision, is a handful of requests.
Do I need LaTeX installed?
Not on Lite. You can download the .tex files or use the print view and save as PDF from your browser. Pro compiles PDFs for you with pdflatex, which needs TeX Live or MiKTeX on the same machine.
Why can't it read some job links?
Some boards block automated readers or require a login. When that happens CareerForge says so and you paste the description instead. Structured data on the page is used whenever it exists.
Should I run this on a live website?
A local install or private site is best because the plugin holds personal career data. It is admin-only, but a personal machine keeps the exposure smallest.
If I upgrade from Lite to Pro, do I lose my data?
No. Both editions use the same profile and application data. Activate Pro and everything carries over.
